The People in Dairy program has initiated projects to:
- help advisers increase their capacity to support farmers on people issues;
- build the whole industry’s ability to attract and retain people; and
- develop future farmer leadership capacity to influence public policy and manage collective investments.
Valuing People Project
The University of Melbourne has teamed up with Red Sky to research the effect of good people management on farm business sucess. It will also identify which people management practices are most beneficial on dairy farms. More>>

PeopleGPS
PeopleGPS is a four-day course for dairy farmers that has been developed by Dairy Australia and NCDEA. It is for anyone who manages people working on dairy farms: farmers who employ staff; family run businesses; managers employed on dairy farms; and share farmers. More>>

In2Dairy is a booklet produced by The People in Dairy team to help young people who are interested in a career in the Australian dairy industry but are not sure what is involved or where to begin.
As well as being a guide to starting out and building a career, it also contains links to other organisations that can provide information and services.

Workforce Planning and Action for the Australian Dairy Industry
Attracting, retaining and developing people is the key to the dairy industry’s future. Over the past five years, 59% of dairy farms have attempted to fill a position vacancy and just over half these farms experienced difficulty finding the right person. This project has worked in the priority area of workforce planning and action to ensure the Australian dairy industry has the people it needs. More >>
